Alex’s Story

February 10, 2021 by DSW in Blogs, success story

Alex 14 years got Blind a few years back wen he had reached Primary 2. They are not sure of the cause of his Blindness. He dropped out of school since his case could not be attended too at the school where he was studying from.

He is always left home alone locked inside the house because they now look at him as useless and no one can give him attention.

When we heard about this incident, we managed to visit his home village in Kacuro, Kyanamira sub country Kabale District.

Mere looking at him, you almost shade tears because even his skin color had started changing because he never get a chance to sit outside and get fresh air.

His Mother says they are always buzy doing other work around home so no one has time to keep home with him that’s why most of the time he is inside house since they cannot live him outside alone.

We promised ourselves to try so hard and get him a WHITECANE atleast to ease his mobility and shared with his Parents about the importance of taking him to the Blind school (Honby school for the Blind in Kabale)

We shall keep making followups to see such disabled people especially children get help and change society’s attitude towards them.
